MEET JANELLE

Janelle MacDonald was born and raised on PEI and currently lives in the Stratford area. She is passionate about cats, music, sports, writing, walking, and exploring our beautiful island… and not necessarily in that order! 


After years of working in various jobs, Janelle found her calling in the ‘helping field’, and successfully pursued a diploma in youth work. Building on this foundation, she went on to grow her career over the past 20 years supporting children, adolescents, and adults, in a variety of high-needs environments. 


Recognizing the ever-growing, aging population, and their many under-met needs, Janelle decided to redirect her focus to helping seniors… and founded SJM Senior Care Services.

SERVICES

Many seniors want to stay in their own home for as long as possible. It’s called “aging in place”.  Many seniors also are concerned about staying healthy, safe, and connected to their friends, family, and community.

We are a local company that offers a wide array of support services to seniors in the Charlottetown, Stratford, and surrounding areas. Whether your need is short-term or ongoing, we can help you live as independently as possible, in the comfort of your own home.

Prior to booking, SJM Senior Care Services offers a free in-home consultation to ensure this service is the right fit for you. 

While the majority of our service area is in the Charlottetown/Stratford region, some other areas may be considered based on availability. Please send us a message for a more detailed discussion. 

Yes, we can provide support wherever you need it, including a community care facility or hospital. 

Yes, we are fully insured, and have a clean driving record. We are covered to chauffeur you to appointments and errands in our car, or yours, whichever you prefer.

Our regular hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 8am - 5pm, and Saturdays from 8am - 1pm.

Yes, each service must be for a minimum of two hours.

We accept debit, cash, e-transfer and for an additional fee can accept credit cards. 

At this time, we do not offer services in those areas but we can assist with medication administration, and we have current certification for Emergency First-Aid and CPR -C.
